The idea of using a projector and screen as the main part of your entertainment system is always alluring. It’s like bringing the movie theater to your home. The problem is that projectors only put out light, not shadows or blacks, and the darkest contrast you can usually achieve relies on how dark the room is. This isn’t an ideal solution for a room or living space that isn’t usually completely dark, especially during the day.
Ambient Light-Rejecting (ALR) Material
Screen Innovations has a screen material that we love for it’s ability to reject ambient room light. This means that a projector and screen setup can be enjoyed even during the day in a room or space that has as much ambient light as people normally enjoy within their homes. The material itself, called Slate 1.2, is grey (slate) and displays projected light with fantastic color reproduction while absorbing a great deal of the ambient light in the room.
The result is a projector and screen entertainment system that you can use in the daytime without turning off all of the lights or shuttering the windows.
Out of Sight Until You Want to See It
An important aspect of our design philosophy at SoundVision is for our Audio/Visual installations to be out of sight when not in use as much as possible. In our demo room we have the Zero-G motorized lift screen installed, which rolls up and hides away in a pocket in the ceiling.
Come See It For Yourself!
